Tyre Pressure Guide

DRIVERS, ON AVERAGE, DO NOT CHECK TYRE PRESSURES ENOUGH TO KEEP TYRES RUNNING EFFICIENTLY.  THE ADDITIONAL COST OF RUNNING ON UNDERINFLATED TYRES IS OVER 3 BILLION POUNDS PER YEAR IN LOST FUEL, MILLIONS OF TYRES PREMATURELY WORN, BLOWOUTS AND ROADSIDE DOWN TIME, HIGHER CARBON EMISSIONS AND LESS SAFETY.  PRESSUREPRO MONITORS TYRE PRESSURE CONSTANTLY DISPLAYING CURRENT PRESSURES AND ALERTING TO LOW AND HIGH PRESSURES!

PressurePro checks tyre pressures 12,343 times every day!

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ABILITY TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN TIRES EASILY AND QUICKLY  ADD TO GREATER STABILITY, HANDLING AND BRAKING.

PressurePro displays current and low pressure alerts in the vehicle.  PressurePro can be integrated to vehicle telematics providing tire pressure info to an office based management system.  Immediately know pressures inside your vehicle at any time, standing or driving!

UK Ambulance Service Start A Trial Of AirAlert With Case to Install To Fleet
A UK ambulance service has recently started a trial of the TPM System from aide automotive ltd, AirAlert is a reactive warning Tyre Pressure Monitoring Device.

Once installed the device will blink when a loss of PSI occurs (4PSI for cars & 8 PSI for commercial vehicles), so just walking up to the vehicle will highlight a under inflated tyre.

AirAlert is ideal for commercial vehicles and trailers, when a tyre valve is not visible the devices LED will blink so bright, the LED will show on surrounding surface areas, making inner axled tyres easily checked.

Ambulance tyre pressures are critical due to weight and response driving, with this the staff of this service have requested the authority to review ways of checking and preventing accidents due to under inflated tyres.

The trial will run for a least a month for all managers and staff to review how an Air Alert TPMS can help.

Contact aide automotive ltd for further information on TPMS.

PressurePro Sensors

With the Easter holiday approaching, caravaners and motorhomers who have purchased a PressurePro system need to check their PressurePro wheel sensors are working corectly.

Matthew Burke Says “We always see an increase in replacement sensor sales before holiday periods but the Easter holiday is always a starting point for PressurePro users to check there sensors and order replacements. As caravans and motorhomes have been stored for quite a few months over the previous year and into the new year, sensors could have expired their battery life and require to be replaced.”

aide automotive offer replacement sensors for the PressurePro Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

Here are some quotes from people in the tyre industry and media:

* “Underinflated tyres can cause excessive heat build up and result in a multitude of problems.”  Firestone Tire Co., Consumer Tire Recall Bulletin, November 2000

* “A properly inflated tyre, on average, will have a savings of about five percent on fuel over a tire that is improperly inflated.”  Harvey Brodsky; Managing Director, Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB), as quoted in Fleet Maintenance, March 2006

* “Of the 3 top retreaders in the U.S., Bandag; Goodyear & Oliver Retreading Systems; all agree that proper tyre maintenance is the key to a good retread.”  David Cullen; Sr. Editor, Fleet Owner Magazine

* “Pressure maintenance is still the foremost thing that a fleet can do to get the most out of its tyres. Pressure maintenance is a very labor intensive process and very expensive.”  Guy Walenga ; Commercial Products Engineering. Mgr., Bridgstone/Firestone

* “Nothing beats good maintenance”  Ray Labuda; V.P. of Tyre Technology, Hankook Tire of America

* “Several maintenance practices are critical, especially tyre inflation.”  Jerry Strigle; Goodyear Tyre & Rubber

* “Most fleets that have significant problems with tires don’t have a program to insure tyres are run at the correct pressures.”  Bill Forsch; Yokohama Tyre Corp

* “Underinflation especially effects the success rate for retreading. It damages casings. Retreading can wind up being expensive for fleets that don’t monitor air pressure.”  Bill Forsch; Yokohama Tire Corp.

* “Incorrect inflation can lead to heat damage of the casing; fatigue in the belts, sidewalls and beads; irregular tread wear; premature tread loss; reduced braking efficiency, and even lower fuel economy due to increased rolling resistance.”  Guy Walenga ; Commercial Products Engineering. Mgr., Bridgstone/Firestone

* “A tyre will rotate 500-plus times every mile, and with each rotation, every point in the tyre is flexing. When a tyre is underinflated, this flexing is more pronounced. That hastens tyre fatigue by generating more heat than if the proper pressure level were maintained.”  Guy Walenga ; Bridgstone/Firestone

* “Tyre Inflation tops everyone’s list of critical tyre-maintenance elements.”  David Cullen; Sr. Editor, Fleet Owner Magazine

* “Proper inflation is a must. The most critical factor in tyre maintenance is proper inflation. Running a tyre underinflated can have serious consequences. Over-inflation can also cause serious damage to a tyre.”  TMC, The Maintenance Council; Guide to Tyre-wear Conditions an Causes.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring

aide automotive has two tyre pressure monitors that assist companies in ensuring their vehicles have the correct tyre pressure.  If tyres are either over or under inflated their is a huge risk of employees having an accident, so a tyre pressure monitor is a essential item to ensure the driving workforce is safe. For a small investment in either PressurePro or Air Alert a company can soon reap back the cost as vehicles function more efficently if tyres are at the correct PSI.
