CV ABS & EBS Brake Repairs Made Easy!

The Sensor Master Clears 80% Of Commercial Vehicle Brake Faults

As the air braking world has changed, we have had to adapt the way we deal with diagnostic problems that can arise on our customers vehicle systems. As the air signalling system has been fazed out and replaced by the EBS / ABS system we have endeavored to keep up with the advancements in the technology and created our own range of testing equipment.
Our engineer is constantly updating the test equipment to match the needs that arise from his service visits, so are perfectly tuned to the EBS / ABS components that we supply.
Our test devices can be used in conjunction with the OE manufacturer’s testers to create a complete analysis structure for truck and trailers that is not only easy to use but also affordable to all sizes of fleet maintenance from owner / driver to multi fleet service garages.
Since 80% of all EBS / ABS problems are sensor related (Reported By Knorr Bremse & Wabco), by connecting to the sensor socket on each wheel, rather than the ECU, in effect, taking the quickest and most direct route, by going straight to the heart of the problem.
The Sensor Master DRA08 is a handheld EBS / ABS sensor and exciter ring tester, for use on trucks, trailers, and buses.
Lightweight and portable, the EBS /ABS CV Sensor Tester comes supplied with two 1.6m high quality cables, a sturdy carry case, short introductory printed manual, and a single 9V battery – everything, in fact, needed to use it straight out of the box.
Designed with ease of use in mind, the Commercial Vehicle ABS EBS Sensor Testertakes minutes to set-up, and, once connected, undertakes a complete test cycle of the six most common causes of EBS / ABS faults, at the touch of a button, in just 15 seconds – a fraction of the time it would take to perform the same tests manually.

Trail Weigh Is A Modern On Board Trailer Weight Monitor System.

October 4th, 2017 Comments off

New Product – Trail Weigh

aide automotive are pleased to release a NEW product to the Commercial Vehicle Product Range, Trail Weigh is a modern On Board Trailer Weight Monitor system.

Trail Weigh is an on-board weighing indicator ideally suited to bulk liquid, grain, powder tankers or forestry transport trailers operating (EBS) Electronic Braking Systems.
Trail Weigh accurately measures the trailers load while loading is taking place with a preset alarm overload. It achieves this by making sure the tractor Park brake is applied, releasing the service brake on the trailer allowing air bags to settle out, before rechecking weight.
When viewing the Trail Weighs display (mounted on the side of a trailer), the loading and total weight will be displayed, optional weight alarm settings are easily programmed. Trail Weigh continually monitors the EBS CAN messages, therefore can identify if the trailer is moving, this information prevents false alarms, ideal for tankers as moving liquid prevents other On Board Trailer Monitors offering correct weight measurements.
As Trail Weigh utilises the trailers technology, the out lay cost for a system is relatively low compared to other On Trailer Board Weighing Systems.

aide automotive launches improved ISOCheck

EBS ISOCheck Now Available In Addition To the ABS ISOCheck – Review Products Details & Buy Online

Commercial Vehicle Equipment Supplier aide automotive Has Launched An Updated Version Of The ISOCheck

ISOCheck tests a trucks’ ISO sockets in order to help identify ABS or EBS faults.

The latest iteration of the system – ISOCheck EBS – has been designed to test electronic braking systems incorporating a CAN line test.

“Trucks that were first used on or after 1 May 2002 must be fitted with A ISO 7638 connection,”

“If a truck is fitted with an Electronic Brake System, and is also towing a trailer that is fitted with EBS, then a 7-core cable must be used.

Like the ISOCheck ABS tester, ISOCheck EBS tests the ISO Socket 7638 pins 1 to 5, but also tests pins 6 and 7, the EBS CAN lines.

Alongside the standard ABS & EBS ISOChecks we can also offer a diagnostic EBS ISOCheck.

ISOCheck EBSPlus test pins 1 to 7, and identifies the exact pin at fault.

Once the initial power test is complete with a RED fault light, the ISOCheck will then go into diagnostic mode and flash a count sequence in relation to the faulty pin,

The ISOCheck product range has benefited from a complete redesign, incorporating the latest electronics technology which enables future proofing truck and trailer brake systems.

ISOCheck can be used to test all Wabco, Knorr-Bremse and Haldex systems, from the early generations to the latest.

Testing is simple and easy,

ISOCheck can be used in many ways: fault-finding by the roadside or as an inspection sheet test within a workshop.

ISOCheck really becomes the perfect test tool on a dark wet night. The quick test and the bright (GREEN) OK / (RED) FAULT indicator increases test and repair efficiency.

The system can also be used continuously between a unit and trailer as a constant visual aide.

Truck Fifth Wheel Lube Liner Plates For Brigg Haulage

May 10th, 2017 Comments off

Truck Fifth Wheel Plate

Brigg Haulage have now purchased over 8 Fifth Wheel Lube Liner Plates

The self-lubricating plate for the fifth wheel results in a perfectly lubricated anchorage for your vehicle. Made of a high-density plastic material, this provides significant levels of resistance and durability. Our Truck fifth wheel autolube liner removes the need to regularly lubricate the plate.
If you are not doing repeated drops, it is not unusual for the Lube Liner to last up to 1½ years before needing to be replaced.
To improve performance and reducing operating costs, customers have fitted a durable Truck Fifth Wheel Lube Liner. This high-density polyethylene disc helps removes lubricating problems by eliminating the need for 5th wheel plate grease. Lube Liners attach to a trailer’s kingpin and provide constant lubrication for easier handling, cleaner operation, safer trailing and more reliable performance during on-the-road operations.
It removes the danger of a dry 5th wheel plate and it ends the need to clean plate grease from your tractor and trailer. By replacing the need for lubricating grease, the plate also reduces the possibility of fire from displaced grease falling onto the hot exhaust or onto electronic components.
The minimum life of our liners is typically around 250,000 miles. However, improved driving conditions can result in a considerably longer life of around 500,000 miles.
Brigg Haulage have now purchased over 8 Truck Fifth Wheel Lube Liner Plates for the fleet. Adding a new Lube Liner to a trucks fifth wheel when a truck is under a service routine minimises time off the road and helps spread the purchase cost.

Truck ISO Tester Starts To Sell!

ISOCheck Re Launch & New User Guide

The ISO tester is an advanced circuit tester, it tests a trucks ISO 7638 socket, trailer susie and ABS/EBS functions.
With the launch now well under way, we can detail here the latest user guide.
When using the ISOCheck on a tractor and trailer, please make sure all health & Safety procedures are in place.
The ISOCheck is a test product & a diagnostic tool, the test lead will quickly identify where the fault is .i.e. on a tractor unit, a trailer or the existing Susie lead.
Testing a Tractor Unit
Firstly make sure the ignition is off in the tractor unit, remove the existing Susie lead that is fitted into the ISO socket.
Apply the ISOCheck to the ISO7638 socket on the tractor unit, fit the end with the clear Perspex modification, for future reference this is called “the ISOIndicator”.
Turn on the ignition, with all voltages and earths correct and also the ABS warning light “off” the ISOIndicator will light up GREEN.
If any of the voltages, earths or the warning light circuit is faulty, then the ISOIndicator will light up RED (or warning light on), this indicates a fault with the tractor unit, with the EBSPlus version the lead will now go into diagnostic mode and flash a count sequence in relation to the pin that is at fault. i.e. 5 flashes indicates PIN 5 “the warning light control wire”.
If the ISOCheck Truck Test resulted in Green and to confirm the trailer has a fault, not follow the trailer test procedure.
Testing the Trailer
Turn the truck ignition off.
Plug the ISOCheck Indicator into the trailer, turn on the ignition. The trailer warning light should activate on the truck dash board and the ISOCheck will light up RED.
The warning light should go out after 2 seconds and the ISOCheck will go GREEN, this means the trailers braking system is working at standstill.
If the warning light stays on, then drive the tractor and trailer above 10KPH, the warning light should go out and the ISOCheck will go GREEN. This proves the braking system is working correctly.
If all is working correctly and there is still an ABS fault light, this would mean the existing Susie lead is probably faulty. If the tester stays RED after a drive, stop the unit and trailer and remove the ISOCheck from the trailer. If the tester stays RED there is a power supply fault from the tractor unit or warning light fault, if the ISOCheck Indicator goes GREEN then there is a fault in the trailer system.
