Fuel Theft For Norfolk Haulier

May 20th, 2010 Comments off

Fuel theft is an issue for many businesses as one business recently found out. Thieves siphoned 2,000 litres of fuel from a number of Freight Force Distribution trucks  parked on their own premises  on a weekend in April this year.

This is the first time we have been attacked in our own yard. So obviously we have the cost of the stolen fuel hitting us, and then there is the fact the lorries were parked up while we had to replace the diesel, meaning we lost work time.  Nick Jolley, Operations Director

Jolley says the company is now aiming to invest  in extra security to prevent similar incidents occuring. One way of preventing such a crime is to invest in a anti-fuel theft device such as TP Anti-Syph, the device that prevents thieves from siphoning fuel from a vehicle.

Anti fuel theft device – false claims from TISS

March 1st, 2010 Comments off

UK Anti-Siphon Group have criticised press releases from TISS who are making false claims about their anti fuel theft device.

The Group which includes TruckProtect, aide automotive and Imexpart have released a statement in response to TISS press release.

The UK Anti-Syph Group states, “The recent TISS report points out that 8mm siphon tubes can pass through their fuel filling holes of their standard device, yet bizarrely, they claim it prevents fuel theft and is the best on the market.  This is a huge admission of test failure by TISS and a totally false report conclusion put into the press. Further, they falsely claim uniqueness and special claims for their floating ball device and when near identical devices are available in the market for half the price – and were not even included in their test.  The TISS press releases are an appalling distortion which misleads the transport sector”.

Anti Fuel Theft Device for Travis Perkins

November 18th, 2009 Comments off

Travis Perkins, one of the UK’s leading Builders’ Merchants, with more than 600 outlets across the country, was looking for an effective solution to the growing problem of fuel theft.

As the company runs one of the largest vehicle fleets in the country, preventing fuel theft and keeping costs to a minimum was a top priority and it investigated an anti fuel theft device.

Requiring no drilling or gluing, it is simple to fit in several minutes and it can also cope with fast-filling of fuel tanks at speeds of up to120 ltrs/min without spilling or splash backs.

Travis Perkins Group Transport Manager Graham Bellman said: “Fuel theft is a problem, and it impacts directly upon our bottom line.

“You cannot stop the most determined of fuel thieves, but this anti fuel theft device provides a valuable defense, and a positive deterrent against fuel skimming.

“Coupled with our other security measures, and very careful fuel use monitoring, a good anti-siphon device offers very definite protection against a problem that is getting more, rather than less, pronounced.

”It is a very simple, but extremely worthwhile product that, for a very modest outlay, can save a lot of money.”
