Tyre Pressure Monitoring regular procedure on Waitrose fleet!

June 15th, 2010 Comments off

Kuehne and Nagal  have purchased 1,000 Air Alert devices to implement tyre pressure monitoring on the vehicles they use for their Waitrose contract. Jas Sittre, Fleet Manager stated “We originally trialled the device to review improved fuel economy, we did see a small improvement but found the major benefits to be alerts to slow punctures and loss of pressure, this device will save down time and stop potential blow outs”. The product has had such an impact on this contract that they’re now looking to roll it out across their other contracts!

AirAlert is a cost saving device that helps eliminate the guesswork out of determining the correct tyre pressure. This device is simple to install directly onto your tyres and sends a reactive warning, by blinking when a loss of PSI occurs (4PSI for cars & 8 PSI for commercial vehicles), so just walking up to the vehicle will highlight an under inflated tyre.

Matt Burke, sales director of aide automotive the suppliers of Air Alert says “Checking tyre pressure on a regular basis is an important health and safety procedure.  Not only does it give peace of mind knowing that your tyres are inflated properly for optimum performance and handling it also assists in lowering maintenance costs, reducing fuel use and saving tyre tread. The life of your tyre is extended due to less tread wear and protects and saves the tyre casing, reducing the chance of blowouts.”

BrakeCheck is probably the number one decelerometer for MOT garages as back up to the roller brake tester.

BrakeCheck is also approved for Class 1 & 2, quad and tri bike MOT testing.

BrakeCheck replaces the old traditional mechanical meter such as Tapley.

With over 10,000 brake testers sold, BrakeCheck is the number 1 decelerometer for an MOT Garage.

Pallet Truck Damage

June 6th, 2010 Comments off

Lee Lock is a product designed to stop damage to trucks and cargo.
Recently Norbert Dentressangle have started to specify the Lee Lock on all new trailers, this has resulted in orders totaling 84 Lee Locks from Bevan Motor Group and Montracon Ltd.
Lee Lock will stop any potential damage to curtain sides, in transit cargo and any potential employee injuries.
The common way to hold a pallet truck is to throw an old tyre into the back of a trailer, lifting a heavy truck into a tyre could result in back injury or strained muscle.
Other inadequate solutions are to turn the truck on its side, this again is not ideal as the truck is not secure and could leak oil.
Lee Lock is now the ideal Health & Safety solution for storing a Pallet Truck, easy to install and a relatively low cost Lee Lock is the Health & Safety product for a Pallet Truck.

The idea being to give avid caravanners technical tips and information aimed at keeping caravan owners safe and legal on the roads.

The new caravan section on our website is designed to clearly explain these key issues and provide some practical tips and advice that owners can follow with ease, helping to ensure their holiday journeys pass off without incident.”

Adblue Contamination

May 26th, 2010 Comments off

AdBlue is  used to reduce emissions  from the exhaust of diesel motor vehicles. It’s a new concept in many vehicles.

These vehicles are a concern as they are highly susceptible to contamination. One small amount of the wrong fuel in the vehicle  can  cause irreversible damage.  So misfuelling isn’t an option and investment in a device to prevent this is a must!

Even a small amount of splash-back from the petrol gun in the tank is enough to permanently damage the AdBlue.

Fuel Theft For Norfolk Haulier

May 20th, 2010 Comments off

Fuel theft is an issue for many businesses as one business recently found out. Thieves siphoned 2,000 litres of fuel from a number of Freight Force Distribution trucks  parked on their own premises  on a weekend in April this year.

This is the first time we have been attacked in our own yard. So obviously we have the cost of the stolen fuel hitting us, and then there is the fact the lorries were parked up while we had to replace the diesel, meaning we lost work time.  Nick Jolley, Operations Director

Jolley says the company is now aiming to invest  in extra security to prevent similar incidents occuring. One way of preventing such a crime is to invest in a anti-fuel theft device such as TP Anti-Syph, the device that prevents thieves from siphoning fuel from a vehicle.

Diesel In AdBlue

May 13th, 2010 Comments off

AdBlue is the registered trademark for AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%) used to reduce emissions  from the exhaust of diesel motor vehicles. It’s a new concept in many vehicles.

Adblue vehicles are a concern in cases of misfuelling as they are highly susceptible to contamination. As little as 10ml of Oil present in a 70 litre fill can  cause irreversible damage.  There’s a misunderstanding that you cannot insert a diesel pump  in an AdBlue tank filler neck as they’re different sizes. However you merely have to insert the nozzle into the hole and the splash-back from the gun still goes into the tank and it’s enough to permanently damage the AdBlue.

Keep an eye out on aide automotive website for a new Adblue misfuelling device that is new to the market
